Meet Samantha – Giving back is a passion!

Hey there! My name is Samantha Grosch and I joined the Apara team as a BCBA in January 2021. I am a Houston native and proud of it!

I began my journey to becoming a BCBA through volunteer work with the Epilepsy Foundation of Texas and Camp For All. I have spent the last decade volunteering my time working with the Epilepsy Foundation at Camp Spike’n’Wave and Kamp Kaleidoscope, working with kiddos of all ages with epilepsy and giving them a barrier-free week of camp. Additionally, I spent almost 3 years working at Camp For All, a wonderful place that serves with children with a range of diagnoses and illnesses, allowing them to have the typical camp experience.

Through all of these experiences, I decided that serving children with disabilities would be the most rewarding career path for me. I thought I wanted to stay in the camp world forever, but through a great professor and a lucky encounter, I found ABA and the rest is history! I attended graduate school at Texas State University, working in the CARES Clinic throughout my tenure there and my decision was solidified that ABA was path for me. I graduated in May 2020 (COVID grad!) and sat and passed my board exam on the first try in November!

I chose to start my career at Apara because of the great learning opportunities that were offered and have continued to be available. I am able to work with amazing staff and clients, but I continue to learn about all of the behind the scenes work that goes into making this place great! Learning all of these different aspects will allow me to grow in my knowledge and career for many years to come!

When I’m not working, spending time with my three beautiful nieces is one of my favorite activities! I am finally getting a nephew this year and could not be more excited to have a boy join the family! I also enjoy spending time hanging out with my friends and family or rooting for the hometown team. Go ‘Stros!
