Being able to provide a place for special needs kids to have fun is the vision for Jamie’s Ranch. They strive for all ages and abilities to enjoy a wide variety of inclusive activities. Everything they do is interactive and encourages as much individual participation as possible.

Sensory-friendly performances are designed to create a welcoming environment for people who are on the autism spectrum or may have sensory sensitivities. The integrity of the performance remains the same, while production elements are modified to accommodate individuals with sensory needs. This allows families and friends of those with autism or other disabilities the opportunity to enjoy an authentic performance experience together.

Sensory Friendly Performances are inclusive matinees that address the needs of all individuals in a welcoming environment. While the integrity and authenticity of the performance remain the same, certain production elements will be modified to create an accommodating experience. This provides an accessible opportunity for everyone to enjoy the arts.

All Sensory-Friendly Performances at The Tobin Center are provided at no cost to students, teachers, caregivers, and families thanks to generous contributions from The Najim Family Foundation, Betty Stieren Kelso Foundation, and The Hearst Foundations. While there is no cost for this performance, tickets are required.

Participating Chuck E. Cheese locations in San Antonio open two hours early on Sundays for children with autism and other special needs. There’s reduced lighting and noise during the two hours of play. Call your local Chuck E. Cheese and ask for their hours of participation.
