Hi, everyone!

My name is Ashley, I am a BCBA, and I have been a member of the Apara family since February 2021. In the winter of 2020, our little family of 3 (with another baby on the way!) packed up and moved to Sugar Land from sunny Santa Barbara, California. While we miss living on the beach, we are looking forward to some good years here in the Houston area!

I graduated from Westmont College in Santa Barbara with a Bachelors degree in Sociology and Human Services. I began working in ABA as a behavior technician while I was still in undergrad, and began my Masters degree immediately after graduating, as I knew ABA would be my forever career. I graduated with a Masters in Special Education and Autism Spectrum Disorders and then completed my ABA coursework, all while working full-time in a supervisory role, helping to grow our little Santa Barbara branch.

My husband, Michael, is a software engineer, and our little boy, Hudson, is now almost 2.5 and the sweetest, most talkative boy you’ll ever meet! They are my biggest supporters and inspirations. Our next baby boy is due at the end of June, and we are looking forward to welcoming him as we endure our very first hot Houston summer!

I am honored and grateful to have been welcomed with open arms at Apara, by both the amazing staff and the amazing families we get to serve. My favorite part of being a BCBA is getting to work collaboratively to combine the science of ABA with the creative art of individualized learning plans that value and celebrate the uniqueness of each child. Thank you for letting me be a part of your family’s journey!
