It’s Mexican-ish restaurant where the food is good, but not the whole story. It’s just a great atmosphere.
Good queso (mandatory in Houston), good tortillas (made fresh) and decent salsa.
Free soft serve on your way out
Play are for the kids while you wait.
Seating was comfortable and, despite the size of the place, the acoustics were great. Good for the whole family, celebrations, or after work happy hour.
Data night? Maybe you could do better, but everyone else is welcome for sure.”

“I visited when they first opened and got to go. I was middle of the road because the gumbo was uuugghh a no but the fish was good. I’ve been to the original in Louisiana so my expectations were very high. Well a year later I revisited and ate inside. This was a much better meal. It had the flavors we were expecting. The place was full of people enjoying themselves. I did like the environment very family friendly. My crawfish was delicious but that was a small pound. I didn’t capture a picture of the fish at the table but it came out fried very good. It had a nice crispy batter. I’m definitely going back for the fish.”

“I am all about supporting local businesses and pre-pandemic, we would frequent the Fire stone pizza bar almost weekly. Now we order delivery for safety reasons which we appreciate. We love the buffet option. You can order your own pizza and also try others that are available. I looooove the Toscano soup whenever I have that soup craving. Their pastas are simple yet good as well. We love the fact that you can order an adult drink if you wish. Prices are great and we have brought family from out of town here before and they loved it!”

Although there have been numerous changes in the ownership of Busy Bee Cafe since it was established in 1935, it has managed to maintain its original, old-time, country-style cooking. The diner has always been notorious for great American food.
